Brot und Glitzer

MACKEFISCH are musical all-rounders who are breathing new life into German-language musical cabaret. The duo from Mannheim are Lucie Mackert and Peter Fischer and were awarded the promotion prize of the Kleinkunstpreis Baden-Württemberg in 2021, have won the Walther-von-der-Vogelweide Prize and won the Funny for Future Jury Prize of the Unterhaus Mainz for their programme ”Generationengerechtigkeit” (Generational Justice). No wonder: their lyrics are mordant, sassy, poetic and very very funny, accompanied by their catchy music exquisitely played by the virtuoso on the piano and the multi-instrumentalist on the home-made chest drum varying skilfully between mesmerising rhythms, catchy tunes and vocal harmonies to die for.
