Marie Diot makes music and nonsense. Her concerts combine strangely twisted comic messages with songs that are charming and direct, telling stories with wit and irony about the sort of things that just happen in life. For instance love and fish poisoning – sometimes things just happen that are so crazy you couldn’t even think them up.
On her albums, released in 2017 and 2020, the singer-songwriter shows her many musical and thematic sides, balancing deftly between melancholy and silliness, indie pop and chanson, and combining it all with her unique style.
In 2014 Marie Diot was a prize winner at the “Treffen junge Musik-Szene“ and has won a lot of prizes since as well. In 2020 she graduated from the SAGO songwriting school and was also nominated for the Prix Pantheon.
