“A happy fart never comes from a miserable arse!” This quote from Martin Luther could be an excellent summary of Matthias Brodowy’s tenth solo show. Because sticking your head in the sand is not especially helpful for breathing. In “Keine Zeit für Pessimismus “, this cabaret artist from Hanover fights fatalism and self-cheating with humoresque. Touché!As always, Brodowy’s new show is literary, political and musical. Not only that, but this self-styled representative of elevated nonsense also likes to indulge in refined silliness and grotesque stories. Matthias Brodowy has been awarded “Das schwarze Schaf“, cabaret prize by Hanns Dieter Hüsch and has also won other prizes including the Prix Pantheon, the Deutschen Kleinkunstpreis and, most recently, the “Gaul von Niedersachsen” (Nag of Lower Saxony).
