Hailing from Hamburg, Mikail Karahan discovered his passion for the stage in his early childhood – his first appearance was in a duck costume in Max and Moritz by Wilhelm Busch at the tender age of six.
When circus became his main hobby as a teenager, Mikail was certain that dancing with the Cyr Wheel was not supposed to stay as just a passion.
He graduated in that discipline from the École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque in Brussels in 2018.
For his Cyr Wheel act “iTSOCKS!” Mikail was awarded the Annie Fratellini Prize at the 40th Festival Mondiale du Cirque de Demain in Paris and, in 2021, the Golden Star, the main prize at the Youngstage circus festival in Basle.
Aside from his work as a solo artiste, he is a co-founder and artiste with the Wurst company.
