Tante Friedl - Tandem

Tante Friedl is a folk and world music duo based out of Berlin, Germany that you’ll fall in love with. With accordion, banjo, and their powerful voices, Magdalena Kriss from Bavaria and Dan Wall from New York State create innovative yet gritty interpretations of folk and roots music from central Europe, the Balkans and the Americas as well as their own original material. From union and protest songs, to tunes about hardship, love and adventure, they use their songs as windows into other cultures, perspectives and histories by carefully crafting exciting arrangements and delivering a high energy performance. In 2020 they introduced the “Tandem Music Tour” where during warmer months they ride from concert to concert on their tandem bicycle. They released their debut album “Tandem” in the summer of 2021 which was nominated for the “Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik” in two categories.
