La Cantiga de la Serena is an ensemble of musicians and researchers from Apulia who have long been dedicated to the rediscovery and reinterpretation of early Mediterranean music, promoting cultural dialogue between East and West. The latest album, “La Novia”, represents the exploration and artistic research into the different traditions of the Mediterranean. The Sephardic tradition, through Spanish cantigas and romances, enters into dialogue with the tarantellas of southern Italy from different regions and historical periods, as well as with songs and dances from the Balkans, Spain, and the Middle East, creating a unique balance between innovation and tradition.
