EIN KUSS – ANTONIO LIGABUE

A KISS – ANTONIO LIGABUE tells the story of outsider artist Antonio Ligabue (1899-1965), who was misunderstood and ridiculed throughout his life. Today, he is one of Italy's most well-known artists and in Switzerland, he is considered the „Swiss van Gogh“. Marco Michel impersonates Ligabue with stunning intensity. Large charcoal drawings are created live on stage and thus become the play’s scenery and the actor’s co-players. Ultimately, the question arises of the craziness of outsiders – or of a society that marginalizes people. Author & director: Mario Perrotta. Press: "Ligabue’s life and his emotional difficulties are captured with passion and piercing energy."
